EDWARD REYES - Music
Edward Reyes studied composition, guitar and piano
at Berklee College of Music, graduated Summa Cum
Laude in composition and moved to New York. There
he pursued his interest in musical theatre and film
scoring in addition to establishing a career as
a jazz composer/ performer.
His other musical theatre work
includes THE CIRCUS OF DR.
LAO (which was optioned for Broadway), and
ESPERANZA (an original),
songs for musical adaptations of ARSENIC
AND OLD LACE, DOUBLE
INDEMNITY, and THE BRIDGE
OF SAN LUIS REY as well as many individual
songs and special material for cabaret artists.
In addition to having composed underscore in the
feature film BLUE VELVET,
Reyes has composed the scores to MYRON'S MOVIE , THE PAINTING, SHELL
SHOCK, and THE CHAIR, .
He has also written music for television, most recently
LA HOMEFRONT/ THE FIRES WITHIN for Showtime.
His music is heard on the television logo for PBS
"GREAT PERFORMANCES"
as well as the IMAX film logo for NATIONAL
GEOGRAPHIC.
As a performing artist, Reyes leads his own World Jazz ensemble and
his latest CD, Lost World, is available on the Gemini Rising label. He has performed in Europe,
Brazil, Mexico and Africa and has played and recorded
with many jazz greats including Gonzalo Rubalcava,
Harvey Swartz, Claudio Roditi, Jorge Dalto, and
in the groups of legendary jazz drummer Chico
Hamilton and flautist Dave Valentin. He also records
regularly as a studio musician in Los Angeles.
Reyes is an accomplished guitarist, and especially
nurtures a passion for flamenco guitar, which he
has recently led him to studies in Jerez de la Frontera and Granada, Spain.
He plays piano professionally, and has been musical
director/pianist for many artists as well playing
piano in his World /Jazz ensemble. He is also a
partner in SCHTUNG MUSIC ,
an international music company based in Los Angeles.
THOMAS SHEEHAN - Book, Lyrics
A native of St. Louis, Thomas Sheehan developed
an early interest in theatre while acting in local
productions of OUR TOWN, JULIUS
CAESAR, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, BEYOND THE FRINGE
and THE FANTASTICKS.
His interest in the work of Oscar Wilde also began
in St. Louis while appearing in THE
IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST.
He graduated with a BA in Acting from The Catholic
University of America and then toured Germany in
a USO Production of THE DOLLMAKER'S
DILEMNA. He attended Graduate School at
the University of Minnesota as a McKnight Fellow.
Since moving to New York, he
has concentrated primarily on writing. He has created
special material for many cabaret artists and is
currently working on many musical theatre projects.
He is a member of the DRAMATIST
GUILD and is on the board of directors of
Theatre Gym based in New York City.
His work includes book and lyrics for adaptations
and original works, including the following:
